In February, 4th Class had been learning about life in Ireland during the 1900s as part of history. As part of our learning, we learned about the Georgian houses in Dublin. We learned that at first, many wealthy people lived in these houses. We also learned that over time, many of these houses became tenement houses where the occupants lived in cramped, unhealthy conditions. We looked at various photos and we also heard some stories of the people who lived in these houses.
Then, for art, we used shoeboxes to recreate the interior and exterior of a Georgian house, using the photos to help us. Some people decided to create a tenement house, while others decided to create a luxurious house. Check out some of the photos below.
