What a great couple of months we have had in first class! We have been busy decorating and organising our classroom. Have a look at our slide show below.
As well as that, we have been doing lots of reading and writing in both Irish and English. We really enjoy sharing what we have written with our classmates.
In History, we learned all about the festival of Halloween and its origins. We carved a class pumpkin and named it Ben. First class and Fourth class entered an art competition held by CItywest Shopping Centre. Together, we decorated a cow (a Spooky Moo) for display in the shopping centre. We painted the cow to look like a giant Halloween pumpkin!
In PE, a cricket sports coach visited our school and taught us the skills involved in cricket.
In science, we learned about electricity and earned an electricity safety certificate for our classroom. We also carried out an investigation on static electricity using balloons and rice crispies.
In our Learn Together lessons, we have been learning about festivals. We learned about the festival of Diwali and created our own Rangoli patterns as part of our art lessons.
What a great start to First Class!
